Pengabdian Masyarakat Melalui Program Parenting untuk Membentuk Karakter Anak Usia Dini di Desa Kesamben

Pengabdian masyarakat sebagai pilar Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi menempatkan kampus sebagai agen perubahan sosial melalui implementasi program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) yang menjembatani pengetahuan akademik dengan kebutuhan riil masyarakat. Berdasarkan observasi di Desa Kesamben, teridentifikasi persoalan krusial berupa belum optimalnya pembentukan karakter anak usia dini akibat rendahnya pemahaman orang tua mengenai pola asuh efektif. Pada fase golden age (0–6 tahun), fondasi kognitif, sosial, dan emosional anak berkembang sangat pesat, namun praktik pengasuhan di rumah kerap tidak selaras dengan upaya pendidikan di sekolah. Kondisi ini tampak pada tiga lembaga mitra—TK PGRI 1 Kesamben, PAUD Kasih Bunda, dan RA Muslimat Dewi Masyithoh—di mana inkonsistensi pola asuh otoriter, permisif, maupun abai masih ditemukan. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan karakter melalui pemberdayaan orang tua, dengan fokus pada penguatan pemahaman perkembangan anak, penerapan authoritative parenting, serta pembangunan jejaring dukungan antarkeluarga. Metode yang digunakan bersifat partisipatif dan integratif melalui tahap persiapan (identifikasi kebutuhan dan koordinasi), pelaksanaan (presentasi interaktif, studi kasus, dan diskusi kelompok), serta evaluasi proses dan hasil. Kegiatan melibatkan 67 orang tua dan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kesadaran peran sebagai teladan, konsistensi disiplin positif, serta pentingnya kolaborasi rumah–sekolah. Selain menghasilkan perubahan kognitif dan sikap, program ini membentuk jejaring peer support lintas lembaga dan menawarkan model pengabdian kolaboratif berbasis desa yang replikatif dan berkelanjutan.
