Identifikasi Tanaman Berkhasiat Obat di Kabupaten Nias Utara

Kabupaten Nias Utara memiliki keanekaragaman hayati yang tinggi, khususnya tanaman berkhasiat obat yang masih dimanfaatkan masyarakat sebagai pengobatan tradisional. Di tengah perkembangan pengobatan modern, ketergantungan masyarakat terhadap obat herbal masih cukup tinggi karena faktor keterjangkauan dan kuatnya kearifan lokal, namun dokumentasi ilmiah mengenai jenis dan pemanfaatan tanaman obat di wilayah ini masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendokumentasikan jenis-jenis tanaman berkhasiat obat di Kabupaten Nias Utara melalui pendekatan etnobotani. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik survei, observasi langsung, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan dokumentasi di berbagai lokasi seperti pekarangan rumah, kebun, serta hutan desa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat delapan jenis tanaman obat yang masih digunakan masyarakat, yaitu Kalanchoe pinnata, Orthosiphon aristatus, Psidium guajava, Vernonia amygdalina, Andrographis paniculata, Elephantopus scaber, Averrhoa carambola, dan Impatiens balsamina. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan etnobotani masyarakat Nias Utara masih sangat kuat dan berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai dasar penelitian obat herbal modern, sehingga diperlukan dokumentasi dan penelitian lanjutan untuk pelestarian serta pengembangan pemanfaatan tanaman obat secara ilmiah.
