Pemanfaatan Sampah Plastik Menjadi Paving Block Sebagai Solusi Pengelolaan Sampah Di Desa Kelapapati, Kabupaten Bengkalis

Sampah plastik merupakan salah satu permasalahan lingkungan yang paling mendesak di Desa Kelapapati, Kabupaten Bengkalis, karena aktivitas rumah tangga sehari-hari menghasilkan sampah plastik sekali pakai dalam jumlah besar yang belum diimbangi dengan sistem pemilahan dan pengolahan yang memadai. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberdayakan masyarakat, khususnya pelajar dari sekolah mitra, melalui sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan demonstrasi pengolahan sampah plastik menjadi paving block sebagai upaya pengelolaan sampah berbasis sumber sekaligus penguatan ekonomi sirkular. Kegiatan dilaksanakan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif yang memadukan Focus Group Discussion (FGD), sosialisasi, demonstrasi, praktik langsung, dan evaluasi, dengan melibatkan Pemerintah Desa Kelapapati, Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Bengkalis, serta tiga sekolah mitra. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan berbasis praktik langsung (hands-on) mampu meningkatkan pemahaman peserta mengenai dampak sampah plastik, prinsip Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (3R), serta keterampilan teknis dalam mengolah sampah plastik menjadi paving block yang memiliki nilai ekonomi. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model pemberdayaan masyarakat yang berkelanjutan dalam pengelolaan sampah plastik di wilayah pesisir, sekaligus mendorong tumbuhnya unit usaha berbasis Bank Sampah di tingkat desa.
